How to go from ZERO to $769.44/day in 10 days…

LabExperiments

Hi, and WELCOME to the 1st May 2015 blog post on AidanBooth.com!

Today’s post is one I’ve been excited about writing for some time now for a couple of reasons:

  1. It’s the “3 year anniversary” of AidanBooth.com. 3 years since the first ever blog post was written here!
  2. I’m sharing some VERY exciting results from “lab tests” we’ve been running over the past 9 months…

The “lab test” results are the focus today, and we’ll dive deep into those in a moment.

Before I do though, I want to reflect on the evolution and growth of AidanBooth.com over the past few years…

When I launched this website, I had NO IDEA what would happen…

  • I didn’t know if it’d be popular or not.
  • I had NO IDEA what my content would be from month to month.
  • I didn’t know if it would be a waste of time.
  • I didn’t know how long I’d keep adding monthly content.

Starting any new project exposes you to criticism. Not just criticism, but the negative consequences that come with wasting money, wasting time, or making a fool of yourself.

It’s normal to be aprehensive… it’s normal to be afraid. But it’s absolutely KEY that if you want something, you go after it.

I wasn’t sure what would happen with this site, but I launched it anyway. Looking back, I’m glad I did.

Interesting Statistics…

Here are some interesting numbers from AidanBooth.com…

Clicky

  • The average time a visitor spends on this site is 2 minutes and 54 seconds.
  • In the past 12 months, this site has had 149,127 visitors, that’s an average of 408 per day.
  • 65% of visitors are based in the USA. The UK is 2nd with 8.5%, Canada 3rd with 4.6%, and Australia comes in 4th with 3.5% of the visitors.
  • Although the UK is the second biggest country for visitors, London is the #1 city (globally) where visitors are located, with 1.6% of ALL visitors located in London.
  • Surprisingly, in the last 12 months, 69% of visitors use Internet Explorer, 11.9% use Chrome, 9% use Firefox.
  • The most popular blog post is ‘Dissecting Successful Amazon Products
  •  We’ve had over 1500 comments.

THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!!

THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for making this possible.

Thank you for continuing to visit month after month.

Thank you for your support.

While I don’t directly earn money from AidanBooth.com via promotions, I do enjoy “giving back” and sharing the things I’ve learned.

As long as you are still interested month after month, I plan on continuing to add to this blog for a long time to come.

Our Most Successful “Experiment” EVER…

In May 2014 Facebook launched it’s ‘audience insights’ demographic targeting tool. We started “playing around” with it in June 2014, and were amazed by the way it allowed us to laser target demographics.

AudienceInsights

At first we had no idea what we were doing, but little by little, we got the hang of it.

In August 2014 we began sending traffic to a hybrid version of traditional authority sites (in some of the weirdest niches you could imagine).

We were still learning, so not all of our tests were profitable, but every test we ran, we got better.

Over $32,154.45 per month…

Fast-forward a few months, and the site’s we’ve built are pulling in over $32,000 per month.

We started getting results like this:

DailyStats1

We’ve now been able to replicate this system over and over again.

NOTE: The above screenshot shows ADSENSE income… this is NOT limited to Adsense though, in fact, it’s equally applicable and can be even MORE effective when used with affiliate and eCommerce websites, as I’ll explain shortly.

From ZERO to $769.44/day in 10 days with a BRAND NEW website

The system has allowed us to launch a brand new site, and in just 10 days take that new site from ZERO to OVER $700/day (as shown above).

We’ve been able to instantly tap into hyper-targeted Facebook traffic in a matter of minutes.

We’ve been able to get viral exposure of our blog posts and drive THOUSANDS more free visitors.

How does the system work?

It’s a very simple 3-step process…

Step 1. Decide where you want to send the traffic

The ‘destination’ webpage could be almost anywhere… a blog, an authority site, an eCommerce store etc. You can EVEN send this traffic to Amazon pages (Kindle books and physical products).

Here’s an example of a website we’ve sent thousands of visitors to using this method: www.cdltraininghub.com

Step 2. Build & run a simple Facebook ad

The next step is to “turn on” Facebook ads. I’ll explain why the cost of running ads is 100% irrelevant in a moment, first, have a look at a few ad examples:

Doberman

The ad above is for a dog training website that sells dog training products.

InsaneSkill

The ad above is an example we ran for our www.cdltraininghub.com website.

IntelligentDriver

Above is another example from CDL Training Hub…

Step 3. Monitor Your Return On Investment

Since we’re sending traffic using Facebook ads, we get an INSTANT idea of how successful each campaign will be.

We monitor how much we’ve spent, and can instantly see how much we’ve made.

We Start With $3 Per Day.

Whenever we talk to people about paying for traffic, the knee-jerk reaction is “no way, that’s expensive and risky!”.

This couldn’t be further from the truth.

We start with tiny advertising budgets (just $3 per day), and we then scale that up once we know the ad/campaign is profitable.

We can see instantly how profitable the ads are… so before we’ve spent $10 we KNOW if it’s working or not.

So what’s the risk?

The ‘risk’ is about $10… the reward can me THOUSANDS!

We always aim for a 100% return on investment… so if we’re starting a new campaign and we spend $3, we expect to earn $6 back. A 100% ROI.

It’s REALLY Simple

It boils down to just THREE steps:

Step 1. Decide Where You Want to Send the Traffic
Step 2. Build & Run a Simple Facebook Ad
Step 3. Monitor Your Return On Investment

As you can see, it’s REALLY simple.

Furthermore, the thing that’s normally the hardest to attain (traffic), is now the EASIEST!

We can literally “turn the traffic on” with a few clicks in a matter of minutes.

This makes testing INCREDIBLY fast and means we can see results in a matter of hours.

Unlike launching a Kindle Book, building an Authority Site, or selling a White Label product on Amazon.com, using this new system you can get results in a matter of hours.

But it gets EVEN better…

You Can Use OTHER PEOPLE´S Content!

Yes… you read that right…

The other reason this method is so fast, is because you do NOT need to “create” any content of your own.

The content used for the two CDL Training Hub ads shown above are the following two videos:

Here’s the second one:

We don’t own these videos.

We didn’t make these videos.

But we CAN use these videos!

If you want to, you can create and use your own unique content, and sometimes it makes sense to do this, but you definitely do not need to!

60 Seconds!

That’s about as long as it takes to sort out your content.

There’s one more thing that’s so great about using other people’s content…

The Most PROVEN Viral Content…

You can CHERRY PICK the most popular, and more importantly, the most PROVEN viral content on the web.

Use it on your sites as a ‘traffic magnet’.

It works INCREDIBLY well!

Ultra-Quality Websites With RAVING Fans

Perhaps this is what will surprise you the most…

This “new breed” of website we’re building can be incredibly high quality, and can also build a massive base of raving fans…

Check this out:

IFLS-Website

http://www.iflscience.com/ – This is a high quality website with a HUGE amount of extremely popular and sought after content.

And check this out:

IFLS-FBPage

https://www.facebook.com/IFeakingLoveScience

19 MILLION fans.

This is an example of the type of thing we’ve been doing (this is not our website, but it uses a similar model).

The System is NOT Perfect

If you’re like me, then by now you’re probably thinking this sounds too good to be true… and wondering what the catch is.

There are a few key elements to this system working that you need to get right…

1. You Need The RIGHT Content

I mentioned that you can use other people’s content, but you still need to know which content to choose.

Right now we pick content based on instinct… based on a gut feeling of what we THINK will work. We have a few ‘rules’, but they’re still not 100% perfect. Sometimes the content we choose works better than other times.

2.You Need ‘Maintain’ A Website

The way we’re working the system at the moment, it’s NOT 100% hands-off.

In saying that, it’s not exactly labor intensive either, and in Steve’s words, “it’s better than diggin’ ditches”…

Our programmers are hard at work on a system to streamline the maintenance of these websites. We have a few options available but none of them are 100% automated yet.

3. You Need To Understand Facebooks Rules

This isn’t a big deal, but it is important.

Facebook is a gargantuan traffic source that allows laser-focused audience targeting unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, and just like Google, they have some strict rules about how to advertise. If you don’t follow the rules, you’ll find yourself in hot water.

It’s nothing to fear, it’s just something to be aware of. There’s nothing “black hat” or devious about the ads we run, Facebook is 100% happy with them, but you NEED to know the “do’s” and “dont’s” before you begin.

4. Single Strategy vs. Business Plan

What I’ve spoken about today is a single strategy. It’s incredibly effective and it gets lightning fast results, but it’s NOT a business plan.

Whenever we start a project or an experiment like this one, we think about how we can tie it into a much bigger business plan.

For us, it’s not enough to just build a new $100/day income stream, it’s critical that there’s a plan behind it all to turn it into a long term sustainable income. Furthermore, the plan needs to scale well beyond $100k/year (the good news is that these types of websites can easily hit that run rate).

Having a well thought out business plan and the RIGHT MINDSET is a fundamental difference between people who become massively successful online, and those who just kind of “drift along”.

For example, when I consult with our students and ask them what they do, I often get responses like “I sell stuff on Amazon” or “I’ve got an affiliate website that makes me money”…

That’s the WRONG way to look at your business.

If you think like this, you need to urgently change your mindset from “I sell stuff on Amazon” to “I run an eCommerce business”.

It’s absolutely VITAL.

Once you make this leap, your hopes and dreams are no longer resting on the success of one product, or one affiliate website, because you’re looking at it from a business level. It makes it easy to understand how to secure the longevity of your business.

This ties in with the new method I’ve started discussing today. You can’t look at this as a stand alone strategy, it needs to be a “cog in your machine”.

You need to have a business plan to back up the strategy.

I haven’t discussed what that business plan could be today or how we’re approaching it from a high ‘business planning’ level, but with a bit of imagination, you can probably see how this method could tie in to whatever you’re already doing, and at minimum, give you a decent injection of cash.

What Next?

I’ve told you how excited we are about this new method, it’d be unfair for me to just end it here…

Steve (my business partner) and I are currently working with a small group of ‘lab rats’ (this is what we affectionately call our test students) to see how easy it is for other people to replicate the kinds of results we’ve been able to get.

So far things look promising… but it’s still a little too early to share the final results.

We’re also working on things we can do to eliminate the time it takes to maintain these sites (which isn’t really all that much) and we’re close to finishing a complex content algorithm that’ll solve the issue of finding the RIGHT content.

All going to plan, we’ll have some kind of case study or plan available for you before the end of May.

Stay tuned for an update!

What Do You Think?

This has been a bit of a brain dump, I’d love to hear your thoughts one the things we’ve discussed today, so leave a comment!

As always, thanks for reading, I truly appreciate you following this blog, and reading our emails.

Congrats on three years Aidan. I only found your site about 6 months ago, but have been an avid reader ever since. This new method you’re talking about sounds very interesting… can’t wait to hear more.

  2. Jenny Ariston says:

Very cool and has given me a lot of hope. What software do you use to track tour websites? It could be interesting to know more about my website visitors, but I don’t know where to get that data.

    • Aidan says:

Hey Jenny, the stats shown in this post are from Clicky.com. I’d certainly recommend you start tracking visitor data, it can give you a lot of clues about your audience, and also it key to letting you monitor website performance!

  3. Janet says:

Just what I needed to read at the end of a long week in the office…!!! 🙂

  4. Stephanie says:

I’m very interested to see how you streamline this… Wouldn’t mind being a lab rat either.

    Thanks for the info.

Has it already been 3 years?!
    Congratulations from Amsterdam!

And your test is super interesting!
    Better then diggin’ ditches… lol
    Good ol’ Steve…

I feel something interesting comin’ up!

    Best to you Aidan!

Hey Hans! YES, 3 years! I can’t believe it really!! It’s funny looking back and seeing the things I was writing years ago… internet marketing has changed so much! Thanks for continuing to follow the blog AND for commenting, I do appreciate it! 🙂

Would love to be a lab rat for you lol!

  7. sabatian says:

I love cheese and would love to be a lab rat..

  8. Russ says:

    Hi Aidan,

Very interesting. I’m intrigued and can’t wait to read more about this. Sounds like very targeted content curation. Does one need to be careful to properly credit the content source (accreditation) when doing this, or maybe you avoid/filter out those sources that might prefer or require that? Thanks.

    • Aidan says:

Hi Russ, depending on which content you use, it’s possible that giving credit is needed… but it varies a lot. And yeah, you’re right, you can kind of filter out crediting requirements by using stuff that doesn’t require any credits – it varies on a case by case basis 🙂

  9. William Milverton says:

This is one of the most useful blog posts I have ever read

  10. Gavin says:

    Hey Aidan

Always uplifting to read a success story like this one.

Would I be right in thinking you may offer at detailed course or run a workshop in the nr future on the info you shared with this last post.

    • Aidan says:

Hey Gavin, glad you like this! We’re looking at the best way to get this method out to people… it kind of depends on how the “lab rats” do!

      • Jim says:

Would you do a What’s Working Now webinar on this on Blueprint Pro? That would be really helpful to the members.

Also did you drive traffic to the main URL or the post with the videos on CDLTreiningHub,co?

        • Aidan says:

Hi Jim, let me talk about this with the BPPro team, may be something we can get in there at some point… The traffic is always sent to specific URLs, however sometimes we’ve created ads that are designed to take people to the homepage. It really depends on your page setup though and where the ‘monetization’ is happening.

  11. Chris says:

Wow, fantastic results, Aidan! Can’t wait to hear more about it. And congrats on 3 years for your blog. Wow, and what an amazing 3 years it’s been!

  12. Beau says:

Fantastic post Aidan. Congrats from NZ! Been a reader for the past 6 months. In fact it was your “starting from scratch” post that made me take action and build my first niche site which made me my first $ online and is currently working passively.

Very interested in your new hybrid site!

    • Aidan says:

Hey Beau, great to hear you’ve now got a website thats earning money! And it’s ALWAYS good to see fellow NZer’s here 🙂

  13. Great stuff and thanks for sharing! You mentioned sending traffic to kindle books. Is this something you’ve tested yet?

    • Aidan says:

Hi Derek, thanks for visiting! Yes, we’ve sent this same kind of traffic to my wife’s Kindle book series and the results have been good. The method when sending to Kindle/Amazon is slightly different to when sending to a website you own, but the basic principles are the same 🙂

  14. Ken says:

Great content and a great tease abut what’s to come…

  15. Carolin says:

Thank you so much. So inspiring. We are just in the process of starting Azon which we purchased thru you. I love your approach of making it a business. Not something wishy washy. I will be one of your labrats any day.

    • Aidan says:

Hey Carolin, good luck with Azon, I’m sure it’ll go well for you. Thanks for the feedback 🙂

  16. Sam Clarke says:

Congrats on the 3 years ! Its a great blog.
Almost 4 years since we met in Vegas 😉
A lots happened in these years, our eCommerce business is going really well and the Amazon side is picking up.

    Cheers Sam

    • Aidan says:

Great to hear Sam, cant believe 4 years since Vegas, seems like yesterday! Great to hear your eCom business is going well 🙂

  17. Audrey says:

Great Post Aiden & great way to celebrate 3 years!
Love to be a lab rat too..

  18. Dameon says:

Well done Aidan! Truly an inspiration and I look forward to hearing how you’re achieving these results and how we can do the same.

    Keep going strong!

  19. Forrest says:

Hey Aidan – another Kiwi here…

Great post, and an excellent site!

Are you only monetizing with Adsense at this stage? Presumably not of you’re doing over $30k/month. I’d be interested to know what other ways you are using to monetize this.

You’ve obviously spent quite a bit of time building your CDL site – have you done it yourself, or outsourced most of it?

    Cheers mate

    Forrest (Wellington)

    • Aidan says:

Hey Forrest, Adsense is not the only monetization method. We’ve used this for Affiliate marketing sites, traditional eCom, and Amazon related businesses (Kindle and White Label) as well. The CDL site is one I built several years ago. It was all outsourced, but all unique content. Thanks for commenting!

  20. Celeste says:

    Hi Aidan,

Loved this post! Facebook ads have always been a loss for me, so I’m intrigued that you can double your money just with Adsense ads.

Congrats on hitting your 3-year milestone. 3 years of high quality posts is something to be very proud of — and I appreciate the great information, too!

    • Aidan says:

Hey Celeste, thanks for your kind comments! Until about 8-9 months ago, Facebook was also quite tough to break even on. What we’re doing now gets a lot of viral traffic as well, so it makes it a LOT easier to grow a significant profit. Will keep you updated 🙂

  21. Mike Storm says:

Congrats Aidan on your anniversary!! I’ve only followed you for a few months since my purchase of eFormula Evolution, but I find your blog the most informative and generous (with relevant and actionable info) that I’ve found on the interweb.

Also, thanks for the Enfold theme. Well worth the money for that and eFormula so far.

I’m all in for the Lab Rat lottery!

Cheers and continued success to you and all of us.

    • Aidan says:

Hey Mike, thanks for following this blog and for your kind words! Glad you´re enjoying the Enfold theme!!

  22. Jonathan says:

    Hi Aidan,

SO let me get this straight, you do the following:

Create click bait adverts on FB where the traffic is > Traffic visits site where the content is (in this case the videos) > Traffic then visits the site watches the videos or reads the other content > After watching the content or reading it they naturally click on the links (adsense/affiliate products etc…) and you earn commissions.

Traffic remains until the adverts stop on Facebook.

I certainly have seen these across Facebook and know there is a company that creates these sites and adverts – full time business for earning money.

Oh, by the way you’ve not embedded the videos of the trucks on this page correctly to be responsive as the rest of your site.

    Jonathan

    • Aidan says:

Hey Jonathan, in a nutshell, what you’ve mentioned is pretty close.

Step 1. Decide Where You Want to Send the Traffic
Step 2. Build & Run a Simple Facebook Ad
Step 3. Monitor Your Return On Investment

The traffic doesn’t always stop when the FB ad stops though, and there is a lot more you can do with it on your site than just wait for it to click something. We integrate list building etc into the process as well.

Thanks for telling me about the YouTube embed problem, will get it sorted!

P.S. I hope your “little Aidan” is doing well!

  23. Shane says:

    Hi Aidan

Thank you for your post, looking forward to reading more.

I purchased ‘Rank and Pillage’ some years ago and thanks to you, I earn a small but regular income from my sites and have also created my own products.

Congratulations on your 3 year anniversary, long may it continue and keep up the great work.

    • Aidan says:

Hey Shane, Rank and Pillage seems like a loooong time ago, I’m glad those sites are still making you money 🙂

  24. Stuart says:

Aidan, followed your posts for a while now, congrats on the 3 years and looking forward to the update on this post.

  25. Susan says:

    Hi Aidan,
Wow 3 years ago already? Crazy how fast time flies! We’re trying to get a better handle on Facebook Ads for our Azon business, so I will be waiting for an update from you. We had to stop running Facebook Ads as they were costing too much and unfortunately the Azon Ads we’ve been running for our main keyword has skyrocketed too. Very frustrating at the moment, but we’re not stopping:)
    Thanks for the great info!
    Susan
    P.S. I’m another lab rat wannabe…

    • Aidan says:

Hey Susan, 3 years has certainly wizzed by! Facebook ads need to be done the right way, otherwise they always end up being too expensive. It has a lot to do with the target audience you choose – sometimes a few small tweaks can halve the ad cost (or even better). Don’t give up on it!

  26. Mark says:

    Hey Aidan

3 years wow, and still going strong!!

Fantastic results … the testing looks very interesting, great value as always!

Looking forward to the new method. Sounds super cool …
Much better than diggin ditches – Good on ya Steve!

Aidan, the “Exit Pop-Up” box on this site, what software do you use?

Count me in, i’ll be the Kiwi lab rat – lol

P.S – Do you place those ads in the “News Feed”?

    Cheers!

    • Aidan says:

Hi Mark, hope all is going well in Christchurch 🙂

The Exit Pop tool is called “Thrive Leads”, you’ll find it if you do a search in Google. Yes, the ads are in the Newsfeed, but can also be in the sidebar section of Facebook as well.

  27. Marc says:

    Hi Aidan,

6 months ago, I took the leap of faith and decided to join the ecommerce group. Isn’t as “easy” as everyone may think and there’s quite a few “knowledgeable” peoples but noone has given it the same depth & as much info as you.

My morning coffee is spent reading your blog & reviewing all the info you provide!

thanks for providing us with all your insights & if you’re looking for a Canadian Lab Rat, you’ve got me!

    • Aidan says:

Hi Marc, thanks for commenting AND for joining our eFormula Evolution program 🙂 I’m glad you enjoy this blog, and your lab rat status has been noted! Thanks!

  28. Jordan says:

Hey Aidan this post is amazing! Quick question was the money earnt in this example from the CDL training website or another one?

Thanks cant wait to find out more on this subject…

    • Aidan says:

Hi Jordan, the money shown in this post was not from CDL Training Hub, but it was one of our test websites 🙂

  29. Jake says:

I can’t wait for your next blog post about this……I’ve had this idea in my head….but haven’t put the puzzle pieces together yet. I think your next post and case studies would be great! Look forward to it.

  30. Johnathan says:

Hey Aidan, I can’t believe its been three years already. I still remember when you launched AH and PO Evolution. Amazing how time flies. Keep up with the great content, I’m sure I’m not the only one but Thanks. If it weren’t for your guidance over these years i would have never made a dollar online let alone have a business. So I hope to be saying the same at the 10 Year mark! 🙂

  31. Colin says:

Thanks for the teaser!! I like the way you’ve laid down the steps in broad strokes but with just enough to keep my appetite wetted. This sounds like a big $ course with big potential outcome. Look forward to hearing more. I like the way that you comment on most peoples comments – nice personal touch.

  32. Callie says:

This is super interesting. I know you can embed viral youtube videos, but how do you know how much you can legally share of viral articles with pictures?

    • Aidan says:

You can actually share a LOT Callie… look at sites like Mashable.com and HuffingtonPost.com, they often share entire stories, with their own little snippets of information added in.

  33. steve says:

    Hi Aidan-
Can I source any articles and images from the internet without permission from the original creators as long as I reference the author and website in the content? Also – how many posts would you say should be on my website and on facebook before I start creating FB ads? Thx Aidan!

    • Aidan says:

Hi Stephen, you need to follow so rules when using other peoples content, it’s not all “fair game”, but as long as you follow the rules, you’re good 🙂 As for how many posts on your website, there’s not really a lower limit, what’s important is that you KNOW your FB followers will like it… hope this helps!

  34. Sean says:

Hey Aidan I was doing some research about what you talk about and found something that brought up a BIG question mark in my mind. After typing niches like dogs, science, and Fitness and Wellness under the facebook audience insights page, I noticed that these categories had super low affinities (like 1.3x) but super high audiences per page. Like IFLscience has 7.4million follwers (under the page likes section) but an affinity of 1.1x. So does the affinity at this point matter as much if your audience is big enough? Because similairly dogs, the pages that are about dogs all have under 5x affinities, but their audiences are huge. Would it be wise to choose a niche with similarities to these or would it be disastrous? IFLscience seems to be doing pretty well so I am curious. I am thinking about niches in Fitness and WEllness, Animals, DIY, and nature. All of these have pretty low affinities but insanely high audiences just for the individual pages. The overall audiences go up to 70 million and higher. Thanks and I appreciate the help!

    • Aidan says:

      Hi Sean,

Affinity is not everything… it is a good measure, but it’s not vital that you have Affinity of ‘X’ or higher. What matters is that people are passionate about the niche/topic, and that there is plenty of content (and new content is regularly available) to use in your niche.

When sites get so big (like IFLScience), they operate under a whole new set of rules, so we can’t really use them as a benchmark…

      Hope this helps!

  35. Hooshmand says:

    Hi Aidan!

I’m proudly one of your students in your newly-released program and have been following your sessions week after week, based on a web business similar to what you have laid out here and I must say that I’m so excited about it.

So far, everything is going well and very soon, I will be achieving the promised goals from my web business and I’m very grateful for that. Thanks again man and keep up the great work 🙂

    All the best,

    Hooshmand

Been looking for a follow up to this post “How to go from ZERO to $769.44/day in 10 days…”. Haven’t been able to find one. Can you let me know what the status is?

  37. Eddie says:

Just came across ur site and been looking at your posts etc,. I have been trying to make a regular income for many years and just cannot seem to hit the right spot. I have tried following other experienced marketers but they always seem to come up short no matter how expensive their course is.

I have offered my services to be a ‘lab rat’ as I have the time to spend on the internet but I thinks because of my age they think I am passed it.

I guess the Q is – you make marketing and getting income sound so easy, so what can I expect from you if I jump in and sign up with you?

Loved the content on ur site and the fact u actually reply to people!

Hi Eddie, it took me two years of ‘trial and error’ before I finally started making decent income online, so I can completely relate to everything you’re saying here. Regarding signing up with us, we don’t actually have any of our training programs open to the public at the moment, but if you add your name to one of the optin forms on this site, you’ll be notified next time we do have opening.

Thanks for the feedback about this site 🙂

    Hey Aidan,

I was taking a look and your CDL site and your Facebook CDL page. How often did you boost posts on there? I didn’t see a lot of post boosts on the Facebook page. I was checking out what content your were promoting on the page to see how it would align with a fitness site I have. I definitely love this method of passive income generation, I wish I was able to be a part of the 100K factory.

    • Aidan says:

Hi Mark, we never used the Facebook CDL page… the CDL related boosts were done from another FB page 🙂

Oh ok, Got it sir. How can someone use other’s articles without getting in trouble for using them. I know that proper recognition needs to be given, but should you or do you need to alter the article at all before putting it onto your page. For example, if I find a fitness article that has gone viral, do I need to alter the article at all before I post it to my website?

        • Aidan says:

There are certain amounts of content that you can use… so, for example, in most cases if your article uses 50% your own content, and 50% someone elses content, then normally you’re okay. But there are more specific rules as well depending on the type of content.

      • Markandeya says:

        Hey Aidan,

How much starting content should you have on the page before running traffic to it?

        • Aidan says:

You don’t really need much at all… depends what you’re trying to do and the traffic source. If you want to use FB traffic, then you’ll want to have at least a video or a couple of paragraphs of content to start with.

Great information! I appreciate the responses as well. Where would I find these rules to re-purposing content? I see Mashable uses You Tube and some news sites for content. Is that because you can re-purpose content on those sites without being penalized for it?

    Hi Aidan,
I really apologize if this may sound dumb, but how on earth could you on your very first day get 1594 views and 23 clicks for 3 dollars?

btw thanks so much for sharing 🙂

Have You seen any success with Internet Marketing sites? Or should they be more niche specific, with people who are fanatical about a specific topic?

    • Aidan says:

You can do it with internet marketing sites. One thing you need to be careful with however is running paid ads to “how to make money” topics, it’s not always allowed.

  41. Markandeya says:

    Hello again Aidan,

Would you be able to take a look a site I set up recently in the Fitness niche, and give me a little feed back on it?

    Thanks again!

    • Aidan says:

I had a look at your site (removed URL for your privacy), looks good, lots of intriguing content. The real question though which will ‘make or break’ your campaign, is how you’re sending and monetizing traffic… is it profitable? Which pages are making the most money? Normally some pages will be profitable, but others NOT profitable, it’s about understanding which pages are working, which aren’t, and modifying where you send the traffic accordingly.

      • Markandeya says:

At the moment I am sending traffic through Facebook ads (post boosts and website clicks) and I am monetizing the site thus far from google adsense and started using some affiliate offers as well. I guess the trick would be to find viral pieces of content to post and get more traffic using the methods you used above and in 100k Factory. Also, I am contemplating having an eBook written as another monetization source. I guess just testing to see what works is the best way to go.

        • Aidan says:

Sounds like you’re off to a strong start. Once you’ve got the traffic, you should test with multiple monetization methods 🙂
